Email to SMS - Inbound/2Way

There are 3 main methods of receiving texts from your customers, prospects or employees. However, if you wish to receive replies to your texts please look specifically at ‘2 Way SMS’ below.

The 3 main methods of receiving texts are:

FREE Keyword and Inbound Number (FREE)

Our system is ideal for enabling you to build an opt-in database of customers by publishing your FREE Keyword and Inbound Number on all your marketing material and website.

As an example if you were the landlord of the Queen Vic pub, you could choose QUEEN as your Keyword. Your posters, beer mats and menus would say:

‘To receive special offers and promotions at the Queen Vic text QUEEN to 07786200350’.

You could then set up an auto-reply message saying whatever you like and it would arrive on their phone addressed from ‘Queen Vic’. The customer’s mobile number is then stored in your Private Inbox so you can send them offers and promotions to drive footfall to your pub whenever you like.

Short Code (See Short Code Prices)

This works exactly the same as above but your message would read:

‘To receive special offers and promotions at the Queen Vic text QUEEN to 60777’.

This could be set up to charge the customer at standard network rate or be a Premium Rate tariff and earn you revenue.

2 Way SMS  (£35 / Month)

If you wish to receive replies to your text messages then you need your own Dedicated Inbound Number (e.g. 07786 200 350).

When you send out a text with a Sender Name of ‘Queen Vic’ this is excellent for Push Texts (where you don’t want replies). However, when doing this you overwrite what would have been a mobile number with a word. As such the mobile phone cannot send a reply, as it has no idea where to send it.

With your own Dedicated Inbound Number your customer simply hits ‘Reply’ on their phone and their message is immediately forwarded to your nominated email address and stored in your Private Inbox for easy downloading. Furthermore, should you wish to reply back, simply hit ‘Reply’ in Outlook (or whatever email program you use) and we will forward this message back to your customer’s mobile phone.
